I wish I could tell you that yes, there IS an easier way to lose weight and that all the supposed “miracle” pills, foods, teas and coffees really do work! Sorry friends….not only do they not live up to their claim, they can cause serious harm.
According to Webmd.com, supplements for weight loss and energy “send an average of 23,000 people a year to the ER”. The most common reasons people sought help were heart problems and a racing pulse (aren’t those health problems we’re trying to prevent with weight loss?!) Due to a law passed in the 1990’s, government regulation of dietary supplements is weak so even if it claims to be “natural”, there can be hidden sketchy or even illegal ingredients!
If you want to lose weight and keep it off, there is only ONE healthy and natural way.
- BURN more calories than you consume.
- Accurately TRACK your eating HABITS. Not just what and how much you eat, but also how often (many people go way too long without nourishing their body)
- MAKE A LIST of the healthy foods you’re going to incorporate into your routine
- JOURNAL WHY you’re eating – true hunger (often confused with thirst), emotional hunger
- MOVE YOUR BODY
Sure, taking a pill would be a lot easier but if it’s too good to be true, it usually is.
