What to Eat Before and After a Workout

Just like a car needs gas to run, your body needs fuel to move and that fuel is carbohydrates.  And after you’ve gone on your road trip, you’ll need to refuel which includes more carbs and protein!

Carbs are your fuel for your body and brain!

Keep in mind that not all carbs are created equal!  One of my favorite pre-workout snacks are Banana Oatmeal energy bites!  You can add some protein to them by simply mixing in some protein powder or add your favorite additions like flax or chia seeds!

After vigorous exercise you must replenish so that your muscles and body can repair and build…and this takes protein and carbs!  I love to make smoothies with protein powder, almond milk and fruit for the perfect refuel combination!
